Quantum physics is reshaping our vision of the physical universe. It is navigating the terrain beyond our senses, describing the essence of matter/energy and spawning our technological future. Despite the quantum's otherworldly customs and its ability to illumine the nature of the cosmos, it surrounds and permeates us, embedded within the fodder of our everyday lives. However, this preeminent instrument of description is, by definition, limited to the physical, the quantifiable. This is why I believe it makes so much sense to couple these concepts with the tarot, an ancient art form expressing the subjective realms of the human psyche. Quantum physics and the tarot inhabit opposite, yet complimentary realms of usefulness; realms that overlap in the most interesting ways.
The artists of The Quantum Physics Tarot deck will endow visual form to these revolutionary realities of the physical world, and help us internalize them within our experience. The artwork of this deck will connect concepts from the depths of the subatomic realm to meaning from within the depths of human consciousness.
The artwork of The Quantum Physics Tarot deck will be created by 78 visionary, surrealist artists, each graphically elucidating the concept associated with his or her card.
Some artists feel apprehensive about addressing a subject matter so technical and so seemingly disembodied from the everyday world. I hope, however, that reading each card's description will dispel any doubts one may have about engaging these topics.
